Which player’s base price is the highest that has been registered for the WPL 2024 auction?
Out of the 165 players who registered, only two have maintained the highest base price for this year’s WPL auction at Rs 50 Lakh. They are Australian Kim Garth and West Indian Deandra Dottin. The only four players with a base price of Rs 40 lakh are South African veteran Shabnim Ismail, English wicketkeeper Amy Jones, Australian all-rounders Annabel Sutherland and Georgia Wareham, and experienced Australian bowler Annabel Sutherland. The lowest basic price is Rs 10 Lakh, and the 50 capped players have set their base price at Rs 30 Lakh.
Which ten players should you watch out for the most?
The top 10 players may command more money than the other 20 because there are only 30 places available and limited money left with the teams. As a result, they would be trying to buy experts.
The legendary Chamari Athapaththu of Sri Lanka has accomplished everything possible, yet she did not sell at the previous year’s auction. The 33-year-old Chamari, who is second in the Women’s Big Bash League this season, has amassed eight hundreds in ODIs and one hundred and eight fifty-five runs in T20Is. This time, she is certain to find a buyer and may also be the most costly.
West Indies’ Deandra Dottin
Due to an odd pre-season event in which she did not receive medical clearance, Deandra Dotton of the West Indies, another future hero, was unable to participate in the Women’s Premier League’s debut season. Dottin is among the game’s seasoned players. With 127 T20I matches under her belt, 2697 runs, and 62 wickets, the West Indian all-rounder arrived at GG for INR 60 Lakh.
Australia’s Annabel Sutherland
Big Sutherland from Melbourne has participated in 23 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 22 Twenty20 Internationals for the Australian women’s team. She also holds two Test centuries and one ODI century. She took 23 wickets in 14 WBBL games recently, demonstrating significant progress in her bowling.
Amy Jones from England
Amy Jones, once limited to being a wicketkeeper, is now gaining recognition after emerging from the shadows of more famous English players. The English woman, who has played international cricket for over ten years, is among the best hands behind the wickets and has amassed over 2000 runs in the white-ball game. With her recently acquired leadership abilities and powerful hitting ability—she has consistently scored over 150 in the WBBL—Jones will be a huge asset to the teams.
Australia’s Sophie Day
Sophie Day is another rising talent in the WBBL. The 25-year-old Victoria native, a left-arm orthodox spinner, is the talk of Australian women’s cricket circles despite not having made her international debut.
In just 14 WBBl games, she has taken 27 wickets at an average of 12.48. She is certain to be selected by the teams on Indian surfaces because there are greater buys available for spinners.
Shabnim Ismail,
A former Proteas women’s bowler from South Africa, is still extremely valuable due to her ability to execute yorkers and bouncers on command. She is 35 years old, has 314 wickets in her international career, and is eager for more. Ismail, who recently finished 14 games with 13 wickets in the WBBL, will be hopeful that her experience pays off.
India’s Bhavna Goplani
Each squad can only have nine international players, meaning that 11 Indian players must fill the remaining positions. Gujarati Bhavna Gopalani may be one of the 21. Bhavna, who can bat and ball, just returned from an incredible Inter-Zonal T20 trophy where she scored 112 runs in just three innings and was never out of the game.

India’s Ekta Bisht
The seasoned Ekta Bish, with her left-arm spin, will be a threat once more. Bisht performed admirably in the inter-zonal tournament, emerging as the leading wicket taker with eight scalps and five games for Central Zone. Bisht has played 106 internationals, including a Test match for India.
Having made her debut for her country 12 years ago in 2011, the 37-year-old Almora, Uttar Pradesh native has amassed 156 wickets in her career.
India’s Devika Vaidya
Devika, one of the best all-rounders in the domestic circuit, was ousted from the Indian team by Minnu Mani of Kerala. Minu triumphed and Devika failed in the most recent WPL. She would be expecting that this year would be her breakout year. Devika is more than capable of ranking among the most sought-after players in the forthcoming auction because to her leg-break bowling and left-handed batting style. Today’s live telecast and livestream of the WPL 2024 auction Jio Cinemas is where fans can watch the live streaming of the WPL 2024 auction.
