Unveiling Varanasi Cricket Stadium: A New Icon in India’s Sporting Landscape

The International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, was inaugurated alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Sachin Tendulkar is a legendary cricket player. According to officials, the cricket stadium in Varanasi, which is also Prime Minister Modi’s Lok Sabha district, is a step toward developing cutting-edge, top-notch sporting facilities.

Other cricket stars like Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar, and Dilip Vengsarkar were also invited to the Varanasi inauguration ceremony in addition to Sachin Tendulkar. Top BCCI officials were present at the occasion, including President Roger Binny, Vice President Rajiv Shukla, and Secretary Jay Shah.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, collaborated on the stadium’s construction. The UP government spent about 121 crore rupees to purchase land in Varanasi, but the BCCI is expected to spend about 330 crore rupees to build the International Stadium.

With roof canopies like crescent moons, floodlights resembling tridents, seating configurations imitating steps of ghats, and metal pieces on the exterior resembling bilva leaves, Lord Shiva has a major influence on the stadium’s architectural design. Thirty thousand spectators can fit in the stadium.
