Request Mahua Moitra to leave her official residence, the Parliament panel has reported to the Housing Ministry.

Mahua Moitra, the expelled MP of the Trinamool Congress, was asked to leave her official house by the Housing Committee of Parliament, which formally requested this action from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. This happened only a few days after Moitra’s expulsion from the Lok Sabha over the cash-for-query scandal.

The TMC leader filed a motion with the Supreme Court on December 11 to overturn her expulsion from the Lower House of Parliament following the Ethics Committee’s ruling that she had accepted gifts and illicit gratification from a businessman in order to advance his interests.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi had stated that Moitra was found guilty of “unethical conduct” and contempt of the House in the Ethics Committee report for disclosing her User ID and password for the Lok Sabha Member’s Portal to unauthorised individuals, which had a devastating effect on national security.

Mahua Moitra, the leader of the Trinamool Congress, has been in the news lately due to the “Cash-for-Query” Case.

In this instance, Moitra was dismissed from the Lok Sabha as a member of parliament. Now, sources claim that the political figure received a notice to leave her official residence within the next thirty days.

Mahua Moitra has also appealed her removal from the Lok Sabha as an MP to the Supreme Court. This follows the Trinamool Congress leader’s conviction for receiving cash and gifts from a businessman in exchange for using his position to press questions in Parliament to put pressure on the BJP government led by Narendra Modi.

Notice To Vacate Official Residence Was Sent To Mahua Moitra

As was previously noted, rumours have it that Mahua Moitra has received a notice to leave her official residence in New Delhi within thirty days. This notification follows the leader’s removal from the Lok Sabha for “unethical conduct” in the “Cash-For-Query” Case while a member of parliament.

Mahua Moitra, the leader of the TMC

Mahua Moitra has petitioned the Supreme Court in relation to the “cash-for-query” affair, one day after being expelled from the Lok Sabha as an MP. Following their expulsion, Moitra attacked the Ethics Panel, accusing it of “acting without proof” and turning into a “weapon” to “bulldoze” the opposition.

The Government of India should look into the “money trail” of the monetary transaction between Smt. Mahua Moitra and Shri Darshan Hiranandani as part of the “quid pro quo” in a timely, legal, and institutional manner, according to the report. It said that a “threadbare examination” had proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Moitra had given businessman Darshan Hiranandani her Lok Sabha login credentials “deliberately.”

As a result, Smt. Mahua Moitra is guilty of acting unethically, violating the privileges accorded to members of Parliament, and showing disrespect for the House.

Mahua Moitra Responds to Being Kicked Out In the role of MP

Following her removal from Parliament for “unethical conduct,” Moitra took a harsh stance against the government, claiming that the Ethics Committee lacked the authority to remove her and that this marked the beginning of the BJP’s demise. Moitra fiercely denounced the ruling, accusing the administration of using parliamentary committees as weapons to force the opposition into submission and comparing it to being punished by a “kangaroo court”.

“There is no evidence, cash, or gifts anywhere,” Moitra declared. The basis for my expulsion is that I disclosed my Lok Sabha web login. The sharing of the login is not governed by any rules. All of us members of parliament are like conveyor belts for inquiries from the public and citizens who want to voice their concerns in Parliament, as the Ethics Committee hearing illustrates.
