Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi: who was he?
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was a member of Lokendra Singh Kalvi’s Shri Rajput Karni Sena, which led the protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Padmaavat.” However, following his disagreement with the group, Gogamedi formed his own Karni Sena. Gogamedi gained notoriety as a result of the protests in Rajasthan following the release of Deepika Padukone’s “Padmaavat” and the gangster Anandpal encounter case. His videos on these instances have also gained a lot of popularity.
Gogamedi was taken to a private hospital, where he passed away from his wounds, according to information provided by Jaipur police commissioner Biju George Joseph to PTI on Tuesday.
Three or four guys showed up at Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s home and informed the security officers they wanted to meet him, according to Ajit Singh Mamdoli, a former state president of the Rajput Karni Sena. After they had tea, the guard led them inside, whereupon they started shooting at him.Doctors at the hospital he was taken to proclaimed him dead.
Subsequently, Gogamedi’s murder was attributed to Rohit Godara Kapurisar, a member of criminal Lawrence Bishnoi’s group. In a Facebook post, Rohit took ownership of the murder. HT was unable to confirm the claim’s veracity on its own.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, a union minister, expressed his dismay at the incident. He said, “I have spoken to the police commissioner and asked him to arrest the accused at the earliest,” adding that the BJP government, which is about to take office, has as one of its top priority making the state free of crime. In the most recent assembly election, the ruling Congress was defeated by the BJP.
Why did the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena of India form?
The late Lokendra Singh Kalvi founded the Shri Rajput Karni Sena in 2006. Formerly close to Kalvi, Gogamedi served as the Karni Sena’s state president till Kalvi banished him from the SRKS in 2015. He floated the SRRKS at this point.
The SRRKS had become more well-known over the past few years, frequently by violently opposing other causes. It gained particular attention during the demonstrations against the Bollywood film “Padmaavat.” When the movie was being filmed in Jaigarh Fort in Jaipur in January 2017, it was the SRRKS that attacked filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
They had more recently, in April of this year, demanded a rise from 10% to 14% in the EWS quota for general castes.
Gogamedi had declared, “We want our rights,” at a “Kesariya Mahapanchayat” in Jaipur that was hosted by the SRRKS. The purpose of this non-political meeting is to demand that the government uphold the rights of our youth. This Kesariya Mahapanchayat. We are demanding that the state government form a Kshatriya Rajput Kalyan Board and raise the EWS reservation from 10% to 14%. The EWS reservation requirements for Central government hiring should be loosened by the government.

What led to the formation of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena?
Following the Rajputs’ 2006 battle with their longtime adversaries, the Jats, the SRKS was established. Jivan Ram Godara and Harphool Ram Jat were assassinated in Didwana that year by Anandpal Singh, a Ravana Rajput who was at the time the most infamous gangster in Rajasthan. The killings were purportedly related to control of the illegal whisky trade. A broad range of political leaders backed the Jats during their protests, and it was reported that the police arrested any Rajput man who was connected to Anandpal.
The SRKS was established on September 23, 2006, with 11 stated goals, including opposing political or social malice against Rajputs, disseminating historical facts, and fostering Rajput solidarity, in order to fight against the “hounding” of Rajputs. The garment bears the name of Karni Mata, a goddess worshipped throughout Rajasthan whose main seat is in the well-known rat temple in Deshnok, close to Bikaner.
