On Wednesday, October 11, right-handed batsman and Team India vice-captain Hardik Himanshu Pandya celebrated his 30th birthday.
Hardik Pandya is recognized as one of the best all-arounders in the current generation of cricket players. India has been represented by Pandya, who made his international debut in 2016, in all three formats. He now captains the Gujarat Titans in the IPL and plays for the domestic Baroda cricket team.
Pandya was born in Surat, Gujarat, on October 11, 1993. He started playing cricket in Baroda. His father, Himanshu Pandya, reportedly worked as a loan agent in Vadodara, according to a 2017 Times of India story. Pandya attended MK High School until the ninth grade, at which point he dropped out to concentrate on cricket. Pandya is married to Natasa Stankovic, a Serbian dancer, model, and actress famous for her role in Satyagraha. Agastya Pandya is the name of their child.
Pandya began playing domestic cricket in 2013 for the Baroda cricket team. He was a key contributor to Baroda’s 2013–14 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy victory. He contributed significantly to Baroda making the finals by taking 10 wickets. Mumbai Indians signed him for the 2015 IPL season after being impressed by his strong all-around performance.
Pandya was chosen for India’s 2015 T20I tour to Australia after a standout performance for Mumbai Indians against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2015 season.
Pandya’s career with India began in 2016 when he was selected for a limited-overs tour of Australia. He then made an impression at the Asia Cup in Bangladesh by bowling well on seamer-friendly surfaces.
The Mumbai Indians released Pandya prior to the IPL 2022 auction. The Gujarat Titans, a new club in Ahmedabad, later purchased him, and he was made the team’s captain.
On October 16, 2016, Pandya played in his first ODI for India against New Zealand in Dharamshala. He hit 36 runs from 32 balls in his debut ODI. He’s played 83 ODIs so far, totaling 1796 runs and 80 wickets.
