“After an apparent security incident in Brussels this evening, following discussions with both teams and local law enforcement, the UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying game between Belgium and Sweden has been officially called off,” as per the announcement on the UEFA website.

According to the Swedish Football Association, Belgian police had instructed fans to “remain in the arena for security reasons.”

A suspect who is still at large shot and killed two Swedish nationals in an incident the Belgian prime minister dubbed “terrorism.”
